Who is responsible
Ottermaplehorizn Ltd is the controller for personal information processed in operating this website and handling correspondence. Our registered office is 45 Charlotte Street, London W1T 1RS, United Kingdom; company no. 15420837. For privacy enquiries, email [email protected] with “Privacy enquiry” in the subject.
Reading the website
When your browser requests a page, hosting infrastructure necessarily processes connection information such as an IP address, requested URL, date and time, and browser request details. Security and access logs may be used to operate the service, investigate errors and prevent abuse. Our basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure information website.
The site’s editorial code does not include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account registration or embedded social-media widgets. Images, styles and scripts are served as local site files. Following an external reference takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.
Using the studio-note composer
The composer processes the selected topic and message in your browser to create a plain-text preview. It does not submit the draft to us, store it in browser local storage or save it between visits. Copying places the text on your device’s clipboard if permission is available. Downloading creates a text file on your device. Your browser or device may offer its own form-restoration features, which are outside this tool’s control.
If you later send the note using email, that is a separate action. Your email provider and ours process the message as part of delivery. Avoid including payment details, health information or other sensitive information in editorial correspondence.
Email correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, message content and associated delivery information. We use these to respond, investigate corrections, handle rights requests and maintain relevant business records. We generally rely on legitimate interests in managing enquiries; legal obligations may apply to certain records and rights requests.
Correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry and any related follow-up, dispute or legal obligation. Routine material is reviewed for deletion when no longer needed. We do not sell personal information or use enquiry messages to add you to a marketing list.
Service providers and disclosures
Hosting, security and email providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Where a provider processes personal information outside the UK, applicable transfer requirements and safeguards must be addressed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are not absolute. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before responding. Where consent is the basis for any processing, it can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK. You may contact us first, but you do not have to do so before approaching the regulator.
Security and changes
We aim to use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. This notice may change if our practices change; the effective date above identifies the current notice. Read the separate Cookies page for information about browser storage.
